Perhaps you would like to find out about the learning style of your child (see Learning Styles) and try some of the suggestions listed along with:
  • There are lots of fun ways to help with spelling for example playing games like Scrabble, Hang man, word searches and cross words.
  • Asking your child to close their eyes and imagine the letters of the spelling in colour may help.
  • Can they say the letters of the word out loud?
  • Consider practising joined up handwriting as this helps automatic recall of spellings.
  • Encourage and praise your child for their effort.Visit `dudes with dyslexia` for useful information from someone who has dyslexia.
